He is an informed and intelligent guide and you will learn a lot about Spanish history and the significance of these cities. But my favorite part of the book is the author's delightful sense of humor and amusing anecdotes. I found myself laughing out loud on occasion. This book is a fun read and highly entertaining. I have read his other book "Coffee in Cuba" which I enjoyed too. The author's humorous writing style brings to mind a modern day Mark Twain.Product details

I love this guy. I just downloaded one of his mysteries to read next. This book is perfectly charming. If you like Alexander McCall Smith, I think you'll like Graham. He's bright and ironic, but good hearted. This book about Spain was exactly what I'd hoped it would be for my upcoming trip. I've highlighted places and ideas and I will follow up.
Interesting, engaging, clever writing. Useful in planning stops for our upcoming trip to Spain.
I've just read the first few pages and I want to pack my bags and go to Spain tomorrow! In this candid "confession" Robert lays out his soul and I just love his humorous style. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to be entertained. Travel writing with a difference!
The more I travel, the more I appreciate this kind of personal, informal journal. Reading about the author's experiences in Barcelona made me do some research on my own and add Barcelona to my personal bucket list.
